Registration for 2024/2025 opens Thursday, August 1, 2024
Registration is a 4 step process:
Step 1 – Active Kids Voucher: Visit the Services NSW web site to apply for your $50 Active Kids Voucher for each child you are registering for Little Athletics. Eastern Suburbs Little Athletics Centre is a registered activity provider and you will be able to claim a $50 discount off your registration fee for each child registered. To claim your $50 discount you will need to enter your child’s voucher number during the online registration process through the Little Athletics NSW website.
Step 2 – Click Here to Register Online through Little Athletics NSW. Please note: Due to the change in registration platform to Revolutionise Sport for all athletes, if you have previously been a dual-registered (ANSW) athlete and have a National ID, please use RETURNING MEMBER. If you are new to the sport or have previously only registered fro Little Athletics, please register as a NEW MEMBER.
All registration payments are subject to $1.60 +2% transaction fee charged by the registration system provider.
Step 3 – Volunteer Status: Volunteering is very rewarding and we are a volunteer club. It is expected that you either volunteer to assist with events on Friday nights or pay the non-volunteer fee. If you are unable to volunteer or would like to spectate, you are required to pay the non-volunteer fee of $100 so we can hire staff to assist on the night. Volunteers are required for just a few sessions throughout the season. Volunteer Form
Volunteer options: BBQ – Serving, preparing and cooking, Age Assistants – raking long jump, ticking off names, lining children up, measuring etc.
Registration can be completed by coming to our registration night (date and time TBC) where we will check you have completed the form and give you the registration pack that includes athletes registration number and age group and sponsor patches.
Step 4 – New Athletes: This step only applies to athletes who are new to the club for the 2024/2025 season. You MUST bring a proof of age document that can be sighted by the club registrar so that the registered athlete’s age group can be confirmed. Birth certificate or passport are the preferred proof of age documents.
Notes:
- Remember, you are registering your little athletes, not yourself, so please ensure you enter the correct details i.e. make sure you use the Little Athlete’s name and not yours. When supplying an email address, be mindful that this is the email address the ESLAC committee will use to communicate with you about ESLAC events and information during the season.
Trials
Unfortunately we are not offering trials this season.
Age Groups
For the 2024/25 Little Athletics season your age group is determined by your year of birth:
- Tiny Tots must be 3 years of age to start Little Athletics, so children born in September, October, November and December 2021 will need to wait until after their 3rd birthday to join in at Eastern Suburbs Little Athletics.
- Athletes in the Under 12 (born 2013) will qualify for National Championships in the Under 13 age group in both Track & Field and Cross Country/Road Walks. This remains the same cohort of athletes, simply with a different naming convention.
Registration Fees
Fees for the 2024/2025 Season:
- Please Note: ESLAC has a strict policy of no refunds once an athlete is registered.
Parent obligations
- Little Athletics is a volunteer organisation and we require parents/carers to assist with the running of Friday night competitions as much as is possible. With a club of over 600 athletes, we need as much help as possible!
- If you do not have time to volunteer or would rather spectate there is a $100 fee for us to cover hiring staff to assist.
- There are plenty of opportunities to assist and the children enjoy seeing their families get involved as well. Whether it be giving a hand on the BBQ, helping with data entry, assisting with marshalling on the straight or circular tracks or raking jump pits, many hands make the night enjoyable for all.
- Parents can be of most help by studying the rules of events by visiting the E-Learning courses of the Australian Institute of Sport here.
- Club coaches are in attendance to coach athletes and it is important that we make the most of this valuable resource. We can help coaches maximise their time with athletes by ensuring volunteer tasks such as raking pits and recording results are performed by parents/carers as organised by parent volunteer Age Managers.
- ESLAC requires every child to be signed in with their Age Manager at start of competition and signed out when taken home.
- IMPORTANT: please be aware that no child should be left on Friday nights to compete on their own. If a child is found to be left without a parent / carer present at the venue, they will be placed with a committee member until either a parent can be located, or appropriate authorities called to the venue.
