RAIN. THUNDERSTORMS, SORRY!
Tonight’s Little A’s meet at ES Marks has been cancelled.
We have had a great run with the weather so far this season, even last Friday turned out to be a pleasant evening despite heatwave predictions. But all good runs come to an end and we have decided to cancel the ESLAC meet for tonight on the basis that rain and thunderstorms are forecast.
The rain is predicted to arrive at about 5pm and last until 8pm which would not automatically mean a cancellation since athletics is an all-weather sport, but when the forecast was updated last night with the addition of thunderstorms, possibly severe, we decided the meet should be cancelled. We have made the call to cancel early so we can let our helpers and barbeque organisers know and so that our ESLAC families can make arrangements to better spend their Friday night.
Sorry to have to spoil our unblemished record (this is our first cancellation this season) but we hope to resume our good run of weather next Friday the 24th of February.
