RAIN. THUNDERSTORMS, SORRY!
Too Wet/Stormy for Athletics Tonight. We have had a wet week and the forecast for the rest of Friday is not looking good. The official forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology is:
Very high (near 100%) chance of showers. Showers heavy at times. A thunderstorm likely. Winds south to southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h.
The conditions will probably be at their worst from 5-6pm and there is a significant chance of thunderstorms so we have decided to cancel Little Athletics this evening.
ESLAC State Championships Team Announced. Congratulations to the 30 athletes who will be representing ESLAC at the LANSW State Athletics Championships being held on the weekend of the 17th, 18th and 19th of March which is the weekend following our last Little A’s Friday night for the 2016/2017 season on March 10th. ESLAC will be represented in 57 individual events. Please see the complete team by downloading the ESLAC 2017 State Championships Reps and check out all the competition in each event by reviewing the 2017 State Qualifiers – by event order 1.
State Championships Program Announced. The State Championships program has been announced. Next Friday March 10th is the Last Little A’s Meet for the 2016/17 Season. Friday March 10th will be ESLAC’s last meet at ES Marks for the 2016/17 Season. Importantly, it will be the Tiny Tots Season medal presentation so please bring your Tiny Tots along next Friday. We will also have the monster obstacle course and the All Ages Relay so it should be a fun night. Track events will be run as normal and the night will count for points in the Age Championships competition.
ESLAC Trophy Night: Save the Date Sunday the 30th of April. We are planning to have the ESLAC Trophy night for the U6’s to U17’s on Sunday the 30th of April (first Sunday after ANZAC day) at our usual venue of the Eastern Suburbs Rugby Club. This is only a tentative date as the venue booking is yet to be confirmed but please save the date and we will confirm dates in the coming weeks.
Age Champion Shields. Could all of last season’s Age Champions please bring their Shields back to ES Marks next Friday. We will need to engrave new names on each of the shields (whose names will go on the shields for this season?) so if you can remember to bring them back it will save a lot of chasing around in the lead up to trophy night.
