Zone Carnival This Weekend Sat 7th & Sun 8th of December

Zone Carnival this Weekend. Each year ESLAC athletes from ages U7 to U17 are invited to participate in the Inner City Zone Carnival held at our home track of ES Marks Athletics Field on Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th of December. It costs $20 to nominate for the Zone Carnival and the parent/carer of each entrant is expected to volunteer for 2 hours as a helper or pay a $50 non-volunteer levy. U7 to U11 athletes can enter a maximum of 4 events each and U12 to U17 athletes can enter a maximum of 6 events each. Our Zone, the Inner City Zone, is made up of 8 clubs and is one of the strongest Zones in Australia. Each of the 7 clubs can enter a maximum of 5 athletes in each event for the U7 to U11 age groups (there is no limit on Club entries for U12 to U17 athletes), so entries for U7 to U11 are competitive and the final say on who will represent ESLAC is based on Friday night events results as judged by the ESLAC Committee.

ESLAC Zone Team. The ESLAC Zone Team has been announced. It comprises 142 athletes competing in 498 events. Please download a copy of theĀ ESLAC 2019 Zone Team with Events V2 to see who has made the team and the events in which they are competing.

2019 Zone Program. The 2019 Zone program has gone through a couple of iterations with the first version published being updated to fix an error in double listing the 100m finals for some age groups. The program has also been updated to combine the following age groups in the field events where the numbers of entries has made that practical:

  • Combined HJ for U15 and U17 girls to be held at 9:45 on Saturday
  • Combined Shot put for U14 and U15 girls to be held at 12:00 on Sunday
  • Combined U15 and U17 Javelin boys to be held at 2:30 on Saturday
  • Combined U15 and U17 Javelin girls to be held at 2:30 on Sunday

Please download a copy of theĀ 2019 Inner City Zone Program V2 for all the information on this year’s Zone Carnival or alternatively just download the extracts that you need (formatting is slightly different but the information is the same as in the main program):

Zone Volunteer Roster. Thanks to all those who have volunteered to help out at Zone. Having volunteered, it is extremely important that you turn up on time for your selected duty. Events simply cannot be run properly if insufficient volunteers are present. If you have problems with being available for your volunteer slot then go to our help desk to see if they can arrange a swap or (this is often the best option) pay the $50 non volunteer levy by Direct Debit to: Eastern Suburbs Little Athletics BSB 012241 Account Number 254095775 and let us know as soon as possible (email to eslac1@outlook.com) so we can get some helpers to take your place.

ESLAC Runs the Discus events at the Zone Carnival which involves Discus 1 (the main discus cage on the inner track) and Discus 2 which is set up beyond the back fence of ES Marks near the main straight 100m start line. To check what day/time/location (Discus 1 or 2) you are required please download the volunteer rosters here:
