Friday 11th March – Update

Update (as of 11/03/22):

McKay Oval is closed and it is not accessible to us,  so unfortunately, no Little Athletics tonight. Hopefully next week McKay is open for our last night of the season.

Update (as of 10/03/22):

McKay Oval is still very wet and muddy in large sections of the field.  We will await Centennial Parklands (CP) advice on the field status early am tomorrow and provide a further update.  We note that Primary School sport in our zone that also access CP fields has already been cancelled for tomorrow.  Unfortunately, CP determine whether we are allowed to access the oval for our Friday night event. Whilst McKay is a great oval it is times like these that we wish we were back at ES Marks.

A big congratulations to our athletes that competed at the State Combined Carnival.  The athletes do six events over two days which include 100m (200m for older ages), sprint hurdles, 800m, Long Jump, Shot Put and Discus.  There were some fantastic results against quality competition including Chloe winning gold in the U10 girls with Capri securing Bronze.  We also had Julian in 4th just missing a medal in the under 13 boys. The other results included  9 girls Bille 6th and Indiana 31st,  11 girls Aria 7th, 12 Girls Lola 12th, U8 girls Charlotte 20th and 8 boys Callum 27th.  Something for next year’s calendar for our talented all round athletes.  For all the keen combined/multi athletes remember our throws coach Jemima has her 3-5 pm Sunday throws coaching group at Queens Park.  Jemima was one of our best and most consistent combined/multi athletes, so she has some good advice.

The first every ESLAC Gift is planned for this Sunday at McKay oval with any cancellation advice provided Saturday morning.  Thanks to Brian Wright and the NSW Athletic League for fitting our first ESLAC gift into the program.  This is for our Regional and State 100m/400m competitors.  Click HERE for the timetable and a list of our competitors.
