The State Relay Championship is the largest event on the LANSW calendar in terms of number of competitors and will be held this November 22nd & 23rd at Homebush Olympic Centre. Junior athletes (U8 to U11) compete on the Saturday and Senior athletes (U12 to U17) on the Sunday. Click for
a program of events. ESLAC aims to select teams from all age groups U8 and above and to provide coaching for at least 1 hour a week until the Carnival.
Age Managers should start organising teams this Friday (Sept 26, remember, no meet Friday Oct 3) and determine when all can meet for a one hour coaching slot on Tuesdays 3.30pm to 4.30pm or 4.30pm to 5.30pm and Thursdays 3.30pm to 4.30pm or 4.30pm to 5.30pm, starting next Tuesday, Sept 30. We want to avoid a situation where (a) all teams turn up at once or (b) half a team turns up, both of which tend to upset parents. Age Managers or assistants should work out when all team members are available and email Competition Coordinator Ben Thomas

RFID Tag Success! ESLAC made a great leap forward last Friday night with the first successful use of the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags that have been sewn onto your registration numbers this season. With updated software supplied hours before the start of competition we were finally able to scan athletes details at the finish line computer stations, with the U6 50m being the first race at ESLAC to use RFID tags successfully!
Lost or Broken RFID Tags. Now that the RFID tags are working and we have seen just how much more efficient they can make finish line processing of race results, we really need to make sure all athletes have the tags still sewn to their registration numbers. If your tag has been accidentally removed, or if it has just plain disappeared, please contact our registrar Ilana Guthrie. Replacement tags are $5.00 plus postage, so please order new ones if required ASAP because it will help us run successful Friday night meets and help ensure your child’s results are uploaded to the results database correctly.
