ESLAC State Team 2018 Announced. Congratulations to the 27 athletes from Eastern Suburbs LAC who will be representing our club at the LANSW 2018 State Championships. Finalists from the Zone Championships make it to Regionals and then only 1st place and 2nd place from Regionals are automatically through to State. Once all the Regional Championships are completed the next best 8 performances from all of NSW make it through to the State Championships. So to make it through to the State Championships is already an awesome performance and we congratulate the athletes, and the families who have supported them, for your achievement. Please see the ESLAC State Team 2018 for a complete listing of the ESLAC State Team and their events.
There are only 3 weeks left in our 2017/18 Season. The LANSW State Championships on the 23rd – 25th of March are the grand finale for our season and our last regular night of Little Athletics is the Friday night before on March 16th. Please note that the Tiny Tots receive their Season Medals on the last night of the season so make sure all Tiny Tots are on board for Friday March 16th. Please download a copy of the ESLAC Calendar 2017_2018 Season V2 for all the dates and details for the rest of the season.
Hurdles, Walks and Javelin this Friday March 2nd. Tonight is hurdles night and Javelin for the U11-U17s. It turns out we are a hurdles club, judging from the number of hurdlers who have made it through to the State Championships, so tonight will be vital practice in the lead up to State. We will be running Event Series 2 that features Walks for the U9s to U11s and 400m for the U12s to U17s. There is also a 500m Pack Start for the U7s. You can print copies of the ESLAC Event Series 2 Mar 2, 2018 and the Event Series 2 Program List and the ESLAC ES Marks Event Locations Map Oct 6, 2017 and bring them with you tonight so that you know what is scheduled for your age group and where you can find your group at any time.
New Discus and Shot Put Rings are Ready. The new discus and shot put areas are ready for us to use! We will trial replacing Shot Put 3 with the new shot put ring next to Discus 1, that will save the younger age groups having to treck to the far end of ES Marks for Shot Put. But the new area is a busy part of the track and field so please make sure your young athletes don’t stray and interfere with other events in the program.
