It’s the Last ESLAC Meet for 2018. This Friday November 30th is week 11 of our 19 week season but it is our last meet of 2018. There will be no ESLAC Little A’s next week as we prepare for the Zone Carnival on Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of December. After Zone we have our traditional Christmas/New Year’s break and start the 2nd half of our season back at ES Marks on Friday the 18th of January 2019. Zone Entries have Closed. The ESLAC entries for the 2018 Zone Carnival are in. Congratulations to the 129 athletes (up from 119 last season) who will be competing in 428 events (up from 413 last year) for ESLAC at Zone this year.
Please Check Your Zone Entries. It is essential that you click on the link for your age group below to check your Zone entries. 428 events entered is a lot of mouse clicks and it only takes one error for someone to be disappointed at missing out on their preferred events for Zone. Contact us immediately at eslac1@outlook.com if you spot any errors. We must receive error reports by Saturday the 1st of December to leave time for them to be corrected.

Updated Final Zone Program Released. All Inner City Zone clubs have now submitted their entries and the Zone Secretary has been able to update the Zone Porgram and release the final version. EVENT TIMES HAVE CHANGED so please download a copy of the 2018 ICZ FINAL Zone Program and check the new times for your events. Remember all Zone athletes must report to marshalling 20 minutes before your event start time to be put into your heats and taken to your event starting position.
ESLAC Gets New Hurdles. ESLAC has taken delivery of 100 brand new Little Athletics Hurdles all stacked on 2 x shiny new double decker hurdles trolleys. This has been a major purchase that the club has been working towards for several seasons. Thanks to Drew Richardson for taking on this major project and getting the order in to Kings Track and Field. Thanks also to the barbeque crew and our sponsors who have all contributed to the fund raising efforts that make these sorts of major purchases possible. We will now be able to get our hurdles set up much more quickly and they will not be blowing over every time there is some wind on the front straight.
Piper Gold at Nationals. Earlier this month we heard about ESLAC U11 Athlete Piper Simpson who won the 800m title at the NSW PSSA Championships. Well last week she stepped it up to another level and finished with two gold medals at the National Championships. Double Australian National Champion in ten years age group in 800m and 1500m, congratulations Piper Simpson!
100m, 400m and 200m/300m Hurdles this Friday November 30th. This Friday November 30th we will be running a Event Series 1 which sees the Tots run the 50m, the U6s and U7s run a 50m/100m combination, while the U8s to U17s will compete in the 100m and 400m events. The U12s to U17s will also compete in the 200m/300m Hurdles Events. You can print or download the ESLAC Event Series 1 Nov 30, 2018, the Event Series 1 Program List Nov 30, 2018 and the ESLAC ES Marks Event Locations Map Sep 19, 2018 and bring them with you on Friday night so that you know what is scheduled for your age group and where you can find your group at any time.
Registrations are Still Open. Please let your friends know that, even though the season is well underway, registrations for the 2018_19 season are still open. We have already had 10 weeks of the season but there are 9 weeks left before our last night at ES Marks on Friday the 8th of March 2019. When registering, remember that we are “Eastern Suburbs Little Athletics Club – Friday” and that if you want to claim your $100 NSW State Government Active Kids Voucher, you should visit Services NSW first to get your voucher number.
