Little A’s is On. Friday March 12, 2021 2:00pm Just a note to reassure everyone that the predicted rain has not eventuated and Little A’s will be on this Friday and since there has been little to no rain today we expect to be able to run the full Event Series 2 program (see below for details).
Tiny Tot Trophies this Friday Night. As is our tradition, we have special Tiny Tot trophies made up to present this Friday. Our ESLAC trophy night (venue and date to be advised) is usually a bit overwhelming for the Tiny Tots so we get their trophies done on the last night of the season, which makes it a particularly special night for them.
Return Request for Age Champion Shields. To those Age Champions from the 2019/20 season that managed to collect their Age Champion Shields at the beginning of this season (apologies again to those who did not get a chance to collect their shields) can you please return them this Friday night. We will need to them back to get them updated with a new crop of Age Champions from the 2020/21 season.
State Multi Event Championship Success. Congratulations to our 3 medalists from the State Multi Event Championships held in Woolongong last weekend. Emmanuel Moros took out silver with 4,148 points in the U12 Boys and Capri Vincent on 4,595 points and Marnie Laurence on 4,588 points (that is sooo close!) took out silver and bronze in the U9 Girls. It was an outstanding performance by these athletes and the whole ESLAC team in this challenging but fun Little Athletics event.
Hurdles, Walks and Javelin this Friday March 12th. This Friday March 12th we will be running Event Series 2 which sees the Tots through U7s run 70m, the U6s and U8s run the 100m and the U8s through U17s running the straight hurdles. There are Walks for the U9s, U10s and U11s while the U12s to U17s run a 400m and the U7s take on the 500m event. You can print a copy of the ESLAC Event Series 2 Mar 12, 2021 and the ESLAC ES Marks Event Locations Map Sep 19, 2018 and bring them with you on Friday night so that you know what is scheduled for your age group and where you can find your group at any time.
Barbeque Help Required. The barbeque fuels the families of ESLAC as well as the ESLAC bank balance and it has been doing a brilliant job on both counts this season. But the barbeque needs volunteers to run smoothly so, if you nominated as a barbeque volunteer on your parental obligations form, please see Vanessa at the barbeque to help out, the earlier the better.
Record Representation at the State Championships for ESLAC Athletes. Congratulations again to the 47 athletes that have made it all the way through to the State Championships this year. We thought we had a good year last year with 39 athletes who qualified for the State Championships but that figure has been well and truly surpassed this year with a giant contingent totalling 47 athletes making it through to State.
