Zone Nominations Close this Friday November 23rd. Even though we’ve just finished the State Relay Championships it’s already time to finalise our nominations for the Zone Carnival. Each year ESLAC athletes from ages 7 to 17 are invited to participate in the Zone Carnival held at our home track of ES Marks Athletics Field. This year Zone will be held on Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of December. It costs $20 to nominate for the Zone Carnival and the parent/carer of each entrant is expected to volunteer for 2 hours as a helper or pay a $50 non-volunteer levy. U7 to U12 athletes can enter a maximum of 4 events each and U13 to U17 athletes can enter a maximum of 6 events each. Our Zone, the Inner City Zone, is made up of 8 clubs and is one of the strongest Zones in Australia. Each of the 8 clubs can enter a maximum of 5 athletes in each event for the U7 to U12 age groups (there is no limit on Club entries for U13 to U17 athletes), so entries for U7 to U12 are competitive and final say on who will represent ESLAC will be based on Friday night events results as judged by the ESLAC Committee.
The Zone Entry Table will be set up next to the barbeque in front of the girls change rooms.

State Relay Championships Wrap Up. Firstly, congratulations to the 4 x 800m Junior Girls for their Silver medal last weekend. Well done Aria Jensen (U8), Lola Upfold (U9), Anna Colquhoun (U10) and Piper Simpson (U11). Thanks also to the 60 or so ESLAC participants in this year’s State Relay Championships including the parents and carers who came to support them and volunteered to help out over the weekend. Eastern Suburbs fielded a total of 21 teams over the weekend (many more than previous years) and we had 14 top 8 finishes. That is a huge number of teams making it through to the finals. ESLAC also had 3 teams who came very close 4ths, just outside the medals, in the Junior Boys 4 x 800m team, the U13 Girls 4 x 100m team and the U14 Mixed 4 x 400m team. We were oh so close on several occasions. Check out the 2018 Relay Results 1 – SOPAC for a full listing of the results from the LANSW State Relay Championships 2018.
