State Relay Championships. The State Relay Championships are being held at Sydney Olympic Park this weekend. The ESLAC Junior Relay Team will compete on Saturday the 19th of November and the senior team will compete on Sunday the 20th of November. For event times please see the Final State Relay list of events with times – 2016.
Registrations for the Zone Carnival Start this Friday. The Zone Carnival is being held at ES Marks on the weekend of the 10th and 11th of December. Registrations start this Friday and close on Friday the 25th of November at 8pm. That leaves only 7 days to enter the Zone Carnival. U7 to U12 athletes can enter a maximum of 4 events at Zone while U13 to U17 athletes can enter a maximum of 6 events. The Zone relays do not count in the event entry limit. Each club at Zone can only enter a maximum of 5 athletes per event. Where ESLAC has more than 5 entries for an event the ESLAC Committee will use the season results to determine who should go through. Please see the Timed IC Zone Program 2016 (Events and Times) for details of what events you can enter for your age group. There is an Entry Fee of $15 per athlete and for those parents/carers that cannot volunteer, there is a non-volunteer levy of $40. Payment must be received at the time of Zone Registration.
Very Warm Conditions Forecast this Friday November 18th. Our run of great weather is set to continue this Friday November the 18th with the forecast predicting calm and very warm conditions “very light westerly winds and a temperature of 28 deg at 6pm”. It should make for yet another great night of Little Athletics.
200m and Javelin this Friday. This Friday Nov 18th we will be running Event Series 6 which sees the Tots and U6’s running 50m and 70m, and the U7’s to U10’s running 200m and 70m and the U11 to U17 running the 200m and 800m events. There will also be a chance for the U8’s to run a laned 400m and we will have Javelin for the U12 to U17 athletes. Barbeque Roster. After membership fees the ESLAC barbeque is the club’s major source of revenue for the season. This week it is the turn of the U6 Boys and U6 Girls Parents to assist with the barbeque. Registrations are Still Open. The ESLAC Little Athletics season runs right through until March 2017 (with a Christmas/New Year break), so there is plenty of athletics left this season. Registrations are done online through the Little Athletics NSW Online Registration System. You will then be able to complete your registration before the competition starts at ES Marks on Fridays by reporting to Ilana, our registrar, from 5:15pm at the registration desk as you walk into ES Marks. Uniforms Sales from 5:30pm of Fridays. Uniform sales will take place throughout each Friday night at the change rooms on the eastern side of ES Marks field. Please visit our Uniform Page for full details about the ESLAC uniform including costs etc.
Coaching. ESLAC is offering extra coaching options for U8 – U17 Athletes who would like to take their athletics to the next level. Option 1 is at an extra cost of $50 for the season and is from 5:00pm to 5:55pm on Friday night (the hour before our Friday competition) and there will be separate long distance, sprints/hurdles, and jumps/throws coaches available. Option 2 is at an extra cost of $100 at ES Marks on Tuesday and Thursday nights with head coach Mal Baker from 3:40pm to 4:40pm for U8-U11 and from 4:40pm to 5:40pm for the U12-U17 athletes. Please note that entry to ES Marks is free on Friday (ESLAC has the ground hired) but there is an entry fee of $4.50 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
