200m, 800m and Javelin Tonight

200m, 800m and Javelin Tonight. Friday the 6th of October we will be running a revamped version of Event Series 6. The Tots and U6s will run 50m and 70m while the U7 to Seniors will all be competing in the 200m sprint. U7 to U9 also run a 70m while U 10 to Senior will be running the 800m. The U7s will also get a taste of a long distance event with a 500m run. At 8pm (when ES Marks is less crowded) we will be running the Javelin for the U11 to U17 age groups. This will be the first time the U11s have competed in the Javelin so will be a big night. Please download the ESLAC Event Series 6 Oct 6, 2017, the Event Series 6 Program List Oct 6, 2017 and the ESLAC ES Marks Event Locations Map Oct 6, 2017 and bring them with you on Friday night so that you know what is scheduled for your age group and where you can find your group at any time.

New High Jump Mats. ESLAC has invested in new High Jump mats this season. They are the scissor jump mat style that meets the new LANSW requirement that all athletes up to and including U10s use the scissor jump style for all Little Athletics competitions. We will have 2 scissor mats at the southern end of ES Marks along with a dedicated Junior High Jump mat. All U11 to U17 athletes will be using HJ 3 at the northern end of ES Marks which will be set up with Senior High Jump mats. The ESLAC ES Marks Event Locations Map Oct 6, 2017 has been updated to show the new high jump positions.

Barbeque Roster. We have appointed a new barbeque manager for the 2017/18 season, her name is Natalie Jaeger and to help her in her new role we are implementing a barbeque roster for the rest of the season. Please download a copy of the ESLAC Barbeque Roster 2017_2018 Season to see when your age group is rostered on the help out.

On Friday October the 6th it will be the turn of the U9 age group to help out. So if you nominated to help out at the barbeque on your volunteer form and you are available, then please go to the barbeque area and ask for Natalie. Setting up the barbeque is always a particular challenge so if we could have some volunteers at around 5:30pm it would be greatly appreciated.

Registration Finalisation. If you haven’t registered yet for the 2017/18 season, don’t worry, there is still plenty of time, simply click here to register online now or visit our registration page to get more information. To finalise your registration there will be 3 queues at the registration desk that you will pass on your way to the ES Marks track on Friday night:

  1. One queue will be for new members who will need to show athlete ID (passport or birth certificate preferred) to confirm the correct age group has been selected and hand in their 2017 LANSW Working With Children Declaration and ESLAC Parental Obligations Aug 1, 2016 forms before picking up their registration pack.
  2. Another queue will be for returning members who only need to hand in their 2017 LANSW Working With Children Declaration and ESLAC Parental Obligations Aug 1, 2016 forms before picking up their registration pack.
  3. The 3rd queue will be for those who have registered for a trial night. Please see our registrar to have your name ticked off our list and then head to the in field across from the barbeque area and line up behind your age group flag.

Any athletes who still have a temporary registration number, please collect your RFID enabled number from the back straight timing desk.

Uniforms Sales. Uniform sales will be available each Friday night for the first several weeks of the season at the change rooms on the eastern side of ES Marks field. Please visit our Uniform Page for full details about the ESLAC uniform including costs etc.

Registering with ESLAC for the 2017/18 Season

Registration is a 3 step process:

Step 1 – All registrations are done online through Little Athletics NSW. Click here to register online now. Please note that for security reasons, ESLAC prefers not to accept membership payments, so all registration payments should be made online at the time of registration by clicking the “Submit Application & Pay Online” button when it is offered.
Step 2 – Registration can be completed now by coming to our 2nd registration night scheduled for Thursday the 7th of September from 5:00pm, or arriving early on your first competition night (from 5:15pm) and visiting Ilana, our registrar, at the registration desk on the way into ES Marks just before you see the track. Athletes who have completed the online part of registration, including online payment, will be asked for their completed 2017 LANSW Working With Children Declaration and ESLAC Parental Obligations Aug 1, 2016 forms (these were downloaded as part of the online registration process and should be completed prior to attending the registration). Once the forms are received athletes are given a registration pack that includes their registration number and age group and sponsor patches.
Step 3 – This step only applies to athletes who are new to the club for the 2017/2018 season. You MUST bring a proof of age document that can be sighted by the club registrar so that the registered athlete’s age group can be confirmed. Birth certificate or passport are the preferred proof of age documents.

Notes:

  • Little Athletes registering for the first time for the 2017/18 season will be asked to select a centre and then a club. In both cases choose “Eastern Suburbs Little Athletics Club-Friday
  • Remember, you are registering your little athletes not yourself so please ensure you enter the correct details i.e. make sure you use the Little Athlete’s name and not yours.
