ESLAC 2018 State Relay Teams Announced. Congratulations to the 67 athletes who will be representing ESLAC at the State Relay Championships taking place at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre this weekend the 17th and 18th of November. Please download the ESLAC 2018 State Relay Junior Teams and ESLAC 2018 State Relay Senior Teams to see who is representing ESLAC in the 2018 Championships. The Junior day (U8 – U11) is on Saturday the 17th and the Senior day (U12 – U17) is on Sunday the 18th of November. To see what time your event is scheduled, download a copy of the State Relays 2018 Event List with Times V2_2. (this version was updated on November 16th). You can also see the centres competing in each heat by downloading Relays 2018 – Jnr Track for the Junior day on Saturday and Relays 2018 – Snr Track for the Senior day on Sunday. All athletes need to be at the track 90 minutes before their event’s scheduled start time to allow for warmup and fine tuning of changes. It is important to allow time for parking which can be very challenging at SOPAC on a busy day like the State Relay Championships. Check out the LANSW web site here for updated and further information on the State Relay Championships. To help you navigate your way through the State Relay Championships please download a copy of the ESLAC 2018 State Relay Team Information Letter.
Hurdles and Walks Night this Friday. This Friday November 16th we we will be running Event Series 5 which sees the Tots to U7 running 50m and 70m with the U6’s getting a taste of middle distance running with a 300m run at 7pm. The U8s and U9s will run 60m hurdles and 70m and then a 400m all in lanes at 8pm. The under 10s to U17s combine 400m with hurdles and a walk race. We will also have Relay teams practicing through the night so the track will be very busy. To allow for relay team practice this Friday will NOT count for points towards trophies and Age Championships at our end of season presentation. You can download/print copies of the ESLAC Event Series 5 Nov 16, 2018, the Event Series 5 Program List Nov 16, 2018 and the ESLAC ES Marks Event Locations Map Sep 19, 2018 and bring them with you on Friday night so that you know what is scheduled for your age group and where you can find your group at any time.
Trophies and Uniforms. This week we will move uniform sales to the ESLAC Storage Shed (it’s marked on the ESLAC ES Marks Event Locations Map Sep 19, 2018), Amanda has also done a wonderful job of unpacking all our uncollected trophies from last season. So if you have an uncollected trophy or you have a friend who has an uncollected trophy please see Amanda at the ESLAC storage area this Friday night.
Zone Nominations Open. Each year ESLAC athletes from ages 7 to 17 are invited to participate in the Zone Carnival held at our home track of ES Marks Athletics Field. This year Zone will be held on Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of December. It costs $20 to nominate for the Zone Carnival and the parent/carer of each entrant is expected to volunteer for 2 hours as a helper or pay a $50 non-volunteer levy. U7 to U12 athletes can enter a maximum of 4 events each and U13 to U17 athletes can enter a maximum of 6 events each. Our Zone, the Inner City Zone, is made up of 8 clubs and is one of the strongest Zones in Australia. Each of the 8 clubs can enter a maximum of 5 athletes in each event for the U7 to U12 age groups (there is no limit on Club entries for U13 to U17 athletes), so entries for U7 to U12 are competitive and final say on who will represent ESLAC will be based on Friday night events results as judged by the ESLAC Committee.
The Zone Entry Table will be set up next to the barbeque in front of the girls change rooms.
