Registrations for the 2020/21 Season are Open. The Eastern Suburbs Little Athletics season starts on Friday the 18th of September and our registrations for the new season are now open. For all the details on how to register please visit our Registration Page.
2nd Registration Night Tonight. We have our 2nd registration night tonight at ES Marks from 5pm to 7pm. This is where you get to pick up your registration pack and hand in your “Parental Obligations” and “Working with Children” forms that were downloaded as part of the online registration process. Coming tonight helps us overcome bottlenecks on the 1st night of the season on Friday. Please note that this evening is a public training evening at ES Marks so please enter the carpark from Boronia Street (near the corner of Anzac Parade) and turn left as you come up the rise towards the grandstand. We will have registration set up at the rear of the carpark next to our equipment storage area.
Uniform Purchase. Because Thursdays are a public training day at ES Marks there is no uniform purchase at registration this evening, but uniforms will be available at the uniform shop (setup just to the north of the Barbeque in front of the female change rooms) on Friday nights for the 1st part of our Little Athletics season.
New Start Times for this Season. We officially kick the season off tomorrow at our new start times of 5:20pm Warmup/5:30pm Start for the Tiny Tots to Under 8s and 6:35 Warmup/6:45 Start for the Under 9s to Under 17s. We have implemented the staggered start times to separate the younger and older age groups as a part of our Covid Safe plan for the new season.
Limit of One Parent/Guardian per Athlete. Little Athletics is a great social event but this year there are some limits that we need to put in place to make our Friday nights Covid Safe. We have a limit of one Parent/Guardian per athlete to keep our numbers below the 500 person limit for the ES Marks facility. Please note that ESLAC Little As is not a drop and go activity, we need volunteers to run a successful Friday night but just 1 per athlete.
Opening Night Weather Outlook. We are expecting a light easterly breeze of 5-10 knots on Friday and a temperature of around 22°C throughout the evening. There is a 10-20% chance of a shower but only 1mm if it eventuates, so nothing that should bother Little As.
Event Series 3 This Friday. Our opening night of the season sees us running Event Series 3. The Tiny Tots will be running 50m, the U6s and U7s 50m and 70m and the U8s to U10s a 100m/200m combination.
