Eastern Suburbs Little Athletics is Back for 2021. Eastern Suburbs Little Athletics (ESLAC) is back for 2021 and restarting for the second half of the 2020/21 season on Friday January 22nd. For all our season dates please follow the link to our Calendar Page.
100m, 400m and 200m/300m Hurdles this Friday January 22nd. This Friday January 22nd we run Event Series 1 which sees the Tots run the 50m, the U6s and U7s run a 50m/100m combination, while the U8s to U17s will compete in the 100m and 400m events. The U12s to U17s will also compete in the 200m/300m Hurdles Events. You can print or download the ESLAC Event Series 1 Jan 22, 2021 and the ESLAC ES Marks Event Locations Map Sep 19, 2019 and bring them with you on Friday night so that you know what is scheduled for your age group and where you can find your group at any time.
ESLAC Littles Regional Team Announced. The Region 8 Littles State Qualifying Meet for U9 to U12 athletes is being held at the Sylvania Waters Athletics Track, Sylvania, on the Friday the 5th and Saturday the 6th of February 2021. Nominations for the event were open to our U9 to U12 athletes at the end of the last year and were submitted by ESLAC to Little Athletics NSW. The team has now been announced and of the 70 ESLAC athletes who nominated for 202 events 68, athletes have been accepted to compete in 193 events. All events were capped at 24 participants due to Covid-19 restrictions so our sympathies go out to the athletes who missed out and to those that do not get to compete in all the events in which they had hoped to represent ESLAC. Region 8 Littles State Qualifying Meet Final Program Announced. The program for the Region 8 Littles State Qualifying Meet (effectively the Regional Championships for the U9 to U12 age groups) has been released. Please download a copy of the Region 8 State Qualifying Meet FINAL Program to see when your events are scheduled to take place.
New ESLAC Coaching Options Available for the 2nd half of the 2020/21 Season. Now that the Region 8 State Qualifying Meet and the State Championships have been announced we might have some ESLAC athletes who would like to get down to some serious training. The most cost effective way to get professional coaching to get you up to speed for the upcoming championships is by joining ESLAC’s subsidised midweek and pre Little A’s Friday meet coaching sessions.To be a part of our extra midweek or pre-Little A’s meet coaching program there is a charge of $75 for the remainder of the season for midweek training that covers both Tuesday and/or Thursday night coaching and $50 for the remainder of Friday night coaching. Nominations for the U13-U17 Little Athletics NSW Youth State Championships are now open! While the U9 to U12 athletes must go through the Region 8 Littles State Qualifying Meet to get to their State Championships being held at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre on the 20th and 21st of March, the U13 to U17 athletes can nominate directly for the Youth State Championships being held the following weekend on the 27th and 28th of March 2021 also at SOPAC Homebush.
- The nomination period ends 5pm, Sunday, 21 February 2021 with the announcement of successful athletes posted by 28 February 2021.
- Standards must be achieved this season at any Little Athletics NSW competition. If the standard is achieved in an event outside of a Little Athletics NSW competition, then it must be achieved under the Little Athletics specifications e.g., weights and heights and when competing in their own age group.
- The top 2 athletes from each Region then next best 8 from across the state will be selected to compete at the Youth State Championships on 27-28 March at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre. If a Region doesn’t have an athlete achieve the qualifying standard the next top athlete within the state will fulfil the position subject to them meeting the qualifying standard.
- There is a cap of 24 athletes per event.
- There will be NO relays for the U13-U17 age groups.
- Multi-class (Disability) athletes will be required to do a direct entry. Please click HERE for further details and to enter.
