100m, 400m and 200m/300m Hurdles this Friday October 25th. This Friday October 25th we will be running a Event Series 1 which sees the Tots run the 50m, the U6s and U7s run a 50m/100m combination, while the U8s to U17s will compete in the 100m and 400m events. The U12s to U17s will also compete in the 200m/300m Hurdles Events. You can print or download the ESLAC Event Series 1 Oct 25, 2019, the Event Series 1 Program List Oct 25, 2019 and the ESLAC ES Marks Event Locations Map Sep 19, 2019 and bring them with you on Friday night so that you know what is scheduled for your age group and where you can find your group at any time.

- We will be entering a range of teams for the LANSW State Relay Championships which are on Saturday 16 November for U8-U11 and Sunday 17 November for U12-U17. As track athletes cannot participate in field event teams we have traditionally only entered track events teams
- The relay team selectors have some provisional teams. If you wish to be considered please ensure you compete in the 100 metres, noting that the selectors will take recent times, previous performances and relay change proficiency into account
- If you have registered as helping with the BBQ please see Allison to assist. We have a large number of registered BBQ helpers but have not had many actually assisting lately
- If you have registered to assist with set up and pack up. Set up commences at 5pm and pack up occurs from 8pm. Please see Paul Dunstan or Drew for assistance and direction.
A Visit from the Centennial Park Ranger. We had a “friendly” visit from the Centennial Park ranger last week and he chastised us for several transgressions of the many, many rules we must follow. Of concern to our ESLAC athletes, parents and carers is that we need to heed the parking signs and we were also reminded that ES Marks is a strictly “no dogs” venue. It’s important that we take care on these issues because we are expecting another visit this week and we have been warned that fines will be issued.
Age Managers Meeting. Could all age managers please see our Club President Drew Richardson on the infield opposite the barbeque at 5:45pm for an update on the LANSW State Relay Championships.
ESLAC Club Champions Points System. At Eastern Suburbs Little Athletics your event results count towards a points tally that is used to award trophies, event champions, age group champions and even an overall club champion at our end of the season trophy night. As you have probably seen on our ESLAC Results Page all the times/performances for an event are aggregated for each age group and the overall best performances are ranked. We award competition points on this aggregated ranking with 6 points going to the 1st ranked athlete, 5 points to the 2nd ranked athlete, down to the 6th ranked athlete who receives 1 competition point. We also award points for attending a meet, participating in an event and achieving a PB (personal best) performance. Registrations are Still Open. Please let your friends know that, even though the season has started, registrations for the 2019_20 season are still open. We have already had 4 weeks of the season but there are 13 weeks left before our last night at ES Marks on Friday the 6th of March 2020. When registering, remember that we are “Eastern Suburbs Little Athletics Club – Friday” and that if you want to claim your $100 NSW State Government Active Kids Voucher, you should visit Services NSW first to get your voucher number.
