Record Attendance Expected this Friday October 14th

Record Attendance Expected. With the new school term starting and athletics being a traditional summer sporting option, we are expecting lots of new faces this Friday the 14th of October. With a near perfect forecast of “sunny with light winds and a top of 21°” we are expecting a record turnout. However, large participation requires lots of help with setup and packup, Age Manager assistance and of course on the barbeque, so please come early and lend a hand.

There is Still Plenty of Time to Register. Registrations are done online through the Little Athletics NSW Online Registration System. You will then be able to complete your registration before the competition starts at ES Marks on Fridays by reporting to Ilana, our registrar, from 5:15pm at the registration desk as you walk into ES Marks for the next few Friday nights. Please visit our Registration Page for full registration details.

Registration Forms Required. New Members must bring a completed 2016 LANSW Working With Children Declaration and the ESLAC Parental Obligations Aug 1, 2016 form as well as proof of age for your new Little Athlete/s (birth certificate or passport are preferred proof of age documents).

Uniforms Sales from 5:30pm of Fridays. Uniform sales will take place throughout each Friday night for the first several weeks of the season at the change rooms on the eastern side of ES Marks field. Please visit our Uniform Page for full details about the ESLAC uniform including costs etc.

State Relay Championships. Our first interclub competition for the season is the State Relay Championships being held at Sydney Olympic Park on the Saturday the 19th of November for junior athletes (U8 to U11) and Sunday the 20th of November for senior athletes (U12 to U17). We will be adding relays to our Friday night event program from next week to get some practice in before the championships. We are also analysing the season’s results to work out who are the best athletes to ask to represent ESLAC in both track and field events, so make sure you give it your all again this Friday before we start to pick the teams.

100m/400m this Friday. This Friday we will be running Event Series 1 which sees the Tots to U7’s running 50m and 100m, U8 to U17’s running 100m and 400m, the U12 to U14’s the 200m Hurdles and U15’s and U17’s run the 300m Hurdles. For a full listing of events you can download a copy of the ESLAC Event Series 1 Oct 14, 2016 to your phone along with a copy of the ESLAC ES Marks Event Locations Map Oct 12, 2014 so that you know what is scheduled for your age group and where you can find your group at any time.

U9 Boys Age Group Split. The U9 Boys age group has 41 members so far this season. To help manage the group we have made two shot put rings and 2 long jump pits available to the U9 boys this week. That also means we will need extra U9 Boy parent volunteers to help out the Age Managers so please report for duty during warmup at 5:45pm to the marshalling area in front of the barbeque.

Barbeque Roster. After membership fees the ESLAC barbeque is the club’s major source of revenue for the season. This week it is the turn of the U10 Age Group to assist with the barbeque. Please download a copy of the ESLAC Barbeque Roster 2016_2017 Season to see when your age group is rostered on to help out.

Starlight Race for the Kids. The Starlight Children’s Foundation raises money to help brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families. On Saturday October 22nd we hope we can get lots of ESLAC families to join in a 5km family fun run in Centennial Park to help raise money for the Starlight Children’s Foundation and have loads of fun along the way. Please download the Starlight Race for Kids Flyer for more information or visit http://rbcraceforthekids.com.au/ to register for the event.
