Perfect Conditions Predicted again this Friday November 4th. We were lucky last week when the predicted showers arrived about an hour after we finished at ES Marks but this week there should be no luck required. The forecast is for perfect conditions “light north westerly winds and a temperature of 24 deg at 6pm with 0% chance of rain”. It should make for a great night of Little Athletics.
Registrations are Still Open. We are nearly 1/3 of the way through the season but we still go right through until March 2017 (with a Christmas/New Year break), so there is plenty of athletics left this season. Registrations are done online through the Little Athletics NSW Online Registration System. You will then be able to complete your registration before the competition starts at ES Marks on Fridays by reporting to Ilana, our registrar, from 5:15pm at the registration desk as you walk into ES Marks. Uniforms Sales from 5:30pm of Fridays. Uniform sales will take place throughout each Friday night at the change rooms on the eastern side of ES Marks field. Please visit our Uniform Page for full details about the ESLAC uniform including costs etc.
State Relay Championships. Our first interclub competition for the season is the State Relay Championships being held at Sydney Olympic Park on the Saturday the 19th of November for junior athletes (U8 to U11) and Sunday the 20th of November for senior athletes (U12 to U17) for details please see the State Relay Draft list of events – 2016. We will again be adding relays to our Friday night event program to get some practice in before the championships.
100m and 4 x 100m Relays this Friday. This Friday Nov 4th we will be running Event Series 4 which sees the Tots to U7’s running 70m and 100m, U8 to Seniors running 100m, and the U8’s, U9’s and U10’s to U17’s running the 700m, 800m and 1500m events respectively. We will be running 4 x 100m relay practice events again this Friday. Barbeque Roster. After membership fees the ESLAC barbeque is the club’s major source of revenue for the season. This week it is the turn of the U13 to U17 Age Groups to assist with the barbeque. Please download a copy of the ESLAC Barbeque Roster 2016_2017 Season to see when your age group is rostered on to help out.
Coaching. ESLAC is offering extra coaching options for U8 – U17 Athletes who would like to take their athletics to the next level. Option 1 is at an extra cost of $50 for the season and is from 5:00pm to 5:55pm on Friday night (the hour before our Friday competition) and there will be separate long distance, sprints/hurdles, and jumps/throws coaches available. Option 2 is at an extra cost of $100 at ES Marks on Tuesday and Thursday nights with head coach Mal Baker from 3:40pm to 4:40pm for U8-U11 and from 4:40pm to 5:40pm for the U12-U17 athletes. Please note that entry to ES Marks is free on Friday (ESLAC has the ground hired) but there is an entry fee of $4.50 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
